Introduction

Medzol DSR 40 is a combination of Pantoprazole 40 mg and Domperidone 30 mg in a prolonged-release capsule formulation. It is designed to reduce excess stomach acid and support gastrointestinal motility, helping manage GERD and related acid-reflux symptoms.

Uses

Used to manage GERD, acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and other acid-related gastrointestinal symptoms.

How It Works

Medzol DSR 40 combines two actions: Pantoprazole 40 mg reduces stomach acid by blocking the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase proton pump in gastric parietal cells, suppressing the final step of acid secretion. Domperidone 30 mg SR blocks peripheral dopamine D2 receptors, helping improve gastrointestinal motility and gastric emptying while reducing nausea and reflux-related symptoms.

Dosage

One capsule once daily, preferably before breakfast or as directed by the physician. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Side Effects

Headache, dizziness, nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, and flatulence.

Precautions

Use only as directed by a healthcare professional. Avoid use in patients with known allergy to Pantoprazole or Domperidone. Use caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment, heart conditions, electrolyte abnormalities, or a history of QT prolongation. Inform your doctor about other medicines, especially those that may affect heart rhythm. Consult a healthcare professional during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
